OUR PROCESS At Mermaid Aquariums, we take immense pride in the packaging and shipping of our Discus and other fish. Our goal is to ensure your fish arrive safe and healthy. Here's how we make that happen: 1. Double or Triple Bagging: Depending on the travel distance, your Discus will be securely bagged. We line the bags with opaque liners and fill them with pure oxygen before sealing them. 2. Insulated Shipping Containers: The bags are then packed in styrofoam insulated containers to maintain the correct temperature throughout the journey. 3. Heat Packs: During colder months, we include heat packs to ensure the water stays at the appropriate temperature during transit. OVERNIGHT SHIPPING We ship all live fish via FedEx Overnight to guarantee that your Discus or other fish arrive safely and on time. • Shipping Timeline: Orders are typically shipped 1-2 business days after your purchase, and fish usually arrive between 11 AM - 4 PM the following morning. • Service Area: We ship to all U.S. states, including Alaska and Puerto Rico. You will receive a shipping confirmation once your order ships. Live Arrival Guarantee To date, we have had zero losses with fish sent via FedEx Overnight. At Mermaid Aquariums, we ensure all shipments are insured when someone is home to receive the package. What to do if a fish arrives DOA (Dead on Arrival): 1. Take a clear picture of the deceased fish inside the unopened bag within two hours of the first delivery attempt. 2. Refunds will not be issued for shipping costs. However, you’ll receive a store credit for the cost of the fish, which can be used for future orders. Important Notes: • You must be present for the first delivery attempt to qualify for the Live Arrival Guarantee. • If the package is refused or returned for any reason, the guarantee will be voided.
